  The aim of this report is to provide the archive sector with an analysis of key workforce issues and make recommendations for improvements. The report forms Annex G of the full Archives Task Force report.

• Interoperability Protocol, November 2003

  The NCA has advocated the development of a UK Archival Network, comprised of internet resources or strands having a common data structure, which aims ultimately to be searchable through a single interface. The aim of this protocol is to facilitate interoperability between these strands of the archival network in the UK.

• Naming Rules

  Rules for the Construction of Personal, Place and Corporate Names. Archivists commonly use proper names, i.e. the names of persons, places and corporate bodies, when describing, cataloguing and indexing their holdings. The primary purpose of these Rules is to assist cataloguers of archives and manuscripts in forming names along nationally agreed consistent rules.

• Cuckoo in the nest
