Council Structure & Status

Chair

Jonathan Pepler is County Archivist of Cheshire. He took up his post as Chair of NCA in January 2006. He has a particular interest and expertise in historical maps.

Vice Chair

Geoff Pick was Convenor of the Public Services Quality Group (PSQG), the research arm of the NCA, until January 2006 when he took up his present post of Vice Chair. Geoff is public services manager at the London Metropolitan Archives and has appeared on "Who Do You Think You Are?".

Secretary

Joanne Fitton took up the post of Secretary in January 2008. She is the Archivist for Bury MBC.

Treasurer

Heather Forbes took over as Treasurer in September 2006. She is the County and Diocesan Archivist of Gloucestershire.

Press and Publicity Officer

Elizabeth Oxborrow-Cowan is a professional archivist who has run a successful archival consultancy since 2003. This has given her a wide-ranging and detailed view of archive services and the environments within which they operate. She has particular interests in strategic development of the archive sector and professional development of the archive workforce.

Convenor of PSQG

Charlotte Hodgson is Principal Archivist/Prif Archifydd of Glamorgan Record Office.

Archives Awareness Campaign Officer

Kiri Ross-Jones is the Archivist and Records Manager at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. She has a particular interest in outreach and making archives accessible to all.

Archive Lottery Adviser

Louise Ray took over as Archive Lottery Adviser in July 2004 as one of the NCA's two paid full time staff. She is based at The National Archives and has a UK wide remit to offer funding support and advice to the archive sector. Her post is funded by The National Archives and The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council.

Head of Public Affairs

Rene Kinsett took up this newly created post in December 2007, concentrating on the advocacy role of the NCA. The post is funded by The National Archives and The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council.
